A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the National Children’s Center. Our sincere hope is that this website not only introduces you to this incredible organization, but simultaneously brings greater awareness of the remarkable people we are blessed to serve.

I encourage you to not simply read, or click through this website.

Rather… feel empowered to join us in this effort as we continue to ensure that we are solidly and unequivocally committed to each individual’s quality of life, as well as to their positive engagement in the community in which they live. National Children’s Center achieves this through superior care, better opportunities for education, strengthening family and community connections, and enhancing employment opportunities by linking our supported employment and vocational programs directly with the business community.

Like many nonprofits throughout the United States, we have seen our share of challenges and opportunities. Nevertheless, over our more than 50 years in service to the District of Columbia, we have consistently focused on the opportunities. While we are beset by many opportunities, the greatest one of all is nothing short of redefining this industry.

With your help – I am confident we’ll get there. Not solely because each of us desires it, but because the people we serve unquestionably deserve the very best that we can give; every single day.

Scott R. Filer
President & CEO

National Children’s Center is pleased and excited to officially announce the launch of our “I AM” Campaign, showcasing the ABILITIES (rather than DISabilities) that exist within our special needs individuals.

These campaign posters are also designed to highlight the different services that NCC provides in the metropolitan area – maintaining our mission of providing a lifetime of opportunities for the developmental disabilities community that we serve.
