NCC Career Academy Recognized by National Concierge Association – DC Chapter

Chapter President Tony Curtis says,”We have a dedicated Board of Directors this year who are making it their mission to heighten members’ expectations of fascinating and educational components at each and every meeting, and in most cases, utilizing the wonderful talent that is represented in our membership!”

One recent speaker was Monique Simmons (associate member), a Career Developer for the National Children’s Center who talked about training special needs people to work in the hospitality industry. “You could have heard a pin drop as Monique was explaining their work. That’s how interesting we all found this talk,” commented President Curtis.

President Curtis also explained some other enhancements to the meetings.

“In addition, we added NCA member services to other aspects of our meetings. An example is that one of our affiliated members owns a DJ service, and so we’ve added background music to the networking portion of the meeting. We’ve also recently partnered with a local theater who provides play tickets we can raffle off as prizes to attendees. And getting potential members to attend? No problem for this board. They are individually committed to bringing in one new potential member to each and every meeting.”

The proof of their efforts is in the uptick in new members. The chapter has pinned new members at each and every meeting since January 1st.
