WASHINGTON (September 8, 2015) —- National Children’s Center, one of the region’s largest non-governmental providers of services for the developmentally disabled, welcomes Margarita Lorenzetti, who will serve as their new Chief Financial Officer. Margarita brings a wealth of experience to the agency. She is a skilled CPA, and her most recent appointment was Director of Finance at the Air Line Pilots Association, International, with 18 years of service. ALPA represents and advocates for more than 52,000 pilots at 31 U.S. and Canadian airlines, making it the world’s largest airline pilot union.
Margarita is a graduate of the University of Maryland-College Park and has almost 30 years of experience in public accounting, law firm financial management and charity organization. Margarita’s background in senior accounting and financial management, with a record of success in overseeing organizational financial reporting, financial controls/structure and budget management will be an instrumental asset to NCC.
Margarita will be a vital member of our leadership team. In her new role, Margarita will help lead NCC to promote organizational and financial improvements through system implementation and process developments. She will also assist in internal controls and risk management to safeguard NCC assets, and leverage technology to achieve effective budget and financial management reporting. Margarita will succeed Christine Doherty, who decided to leave NCC to be closer to her family and pursue new career opportunities.
